InDesign Tutorials
Below are some great beginner tutorials for anyone getting started in Adobe InDesign. As a beginner myself, these videos helped me out a ton especially when I was making my business cards for the class.
This video by Kay Tappan shows you how to make a basic business card in InDesign. She goes through all of her steps very slowly which makes it easy to follow along. She shows how to preview your card while you are working on it by pressing the "w" key which is something new that learned. She also shows how to choose the correct typography and font size to make your business card clean and easy to read.
This video was created by DesignCourse and it is another business card tutorial. This is a full step by step tutorial on how to create a front and back business card. My favorite thing I pulled away from this video was how to add a box color to the card so it is not just all white. Also, the logo design on the back of the business card is faded in to blend in with the background was another technique I added to one of my business cards.
This is a great InDesign tutorial for beginners made by Dave Conrey. He goes over the most basic fundamentals for anyone unfamiliar with the basics of InDesign. He explains every step that he makes even when he makes mistakes and how to go back to fix them. In this tutorial, he shows how to start a document layout from scratch, why you should choose one layout style over another, how to import and edit text and images, and what to do if you don't have anybody copy handy for your mockup. He also is very excited about this program which makes paying attention easier because he is so into it.
